- Is my
diamond ring covered if I lose it?
- No.
Under the basic policy, personal property items are covered for the
perils listed (ie. fire, wind, theft, etc.)
Coverage for a lost ring or losing the stone from a ring would need
to be purchased under the Special Property Endorsement.
Guns, fine arts, recreational vehicles, and boats are some other
examples of Special Property. Other
examples not covered under the basic policy but that would be covered
under the Special Property Endorsement include – damage caused by your
boat hitting a rock in the water; hitting a tree with your snowmobile; or
breakage of a fine arts item such as Precious Moments.
You should also be aware that certain items have a specific limit
of coverage for all perils. Items
such as guns, silverware, and jewelry have a specific limit for loss by
theft only. If you have any of
these items, be sure you have adequate coverage in case of a loss.
